Thanks for checking out Golem's Bastion!

STORY
You are a lonely soldier in a mountain fort that is about to be attacked by skeletons, minion (not the yellow ones) soldiers, and stone golems, including big boss golems!

ABOUT
This is a top-down 3d tower defense game. You interact with buildings to build and upgrade towers, while managing time and resources, by moving a character around. The camera is independently controllable.
I built this to test out some new game genre mechanics that I had not tried before, and I would appreciate any feedback on the character controls, camera controls, and building interactivity mechanic. However...

Warning: I over-scoped this project for a 10-day jam, so there is are no menus or sound as of right now. The tower icons in the build menu are what I was using in early prototyping, and I forgot to change them before I did the build, and I don't have time to fix it right now, but you'll get the idea. lol. I also did not have time to include in-game instructions, so please read the following, unless you just want to yolo it.

HOW TO PLAY
Your character cannot leave your fort. Your job is to keep the enemies from breaking down the gate. There are 3 buildings for resources that cost gems to unlock. You start with enough to unlock only one of them. The resources are wood, stone, and metal. You need the resources to build towers on the tower bases (gray blocks between wall segments). Towers can be destroyed and replaced with better ones in the tower UI. You earn gems from fallen enemies. Gems are used for upgrades to resource buildings, towers, and the gate. Enemies start spawning after 20 seconds, and increase in number and strength over the next 4 minutes. And they just...keep...coming...have fun!

CONTROLS
- Move your character around by right-clicking with the mouse, like in Age of Empires.
- Left click is only for UI buttons.
- Interact with buildings, tower bases, and the Gate, by targeting them with the right-click and waiting for your character to walk over to them.
- The camera can be controlled with WASD for up/left/down/right, QE for rotation, mouse wheel scroll for zoom, and mouse center-click to reset the zoom.
- Use Alt+F4 to quit.

KNOWN BUGS (besides completely missing components)
- UI buttons using old prototype icons
- Some towers face the wrong way when built
- Spoiler: The gate can be repaired over max HP
- The camera can be moved completely away from the gameplay area, but there is no point, I needed to add a boundary for it but didn't have time.
- ...let me know in the comments if the gameplay is interesting enough to warrant a patch after the jam rating time is over (this would include adding menus and sound)

Thanks to ghost-n-the-cog for helping me with asset selection while I focused on mechanics and gameplay! Had I dialed back the scope sooner, I would have gotten some of the audio bits in there too. That's my bad! :/

At first I was confused because there wasn't a tutorial, but once I got the hang of it it was super fun! Really good job on the balancing and game progression. It wasn't too hard or too easy, and buying the upgraded towers felt rewarding. I'm a big fan of Age of Empires too, so I appreciate the shout-out to the right mouse clicking lol. Good job!

Update: I'm at 320,000 Gems and not sure what else I can upgrade haha

Hey, Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
